Seed Quality and Testing

Scope

The Seed Quality and Testing subject matter area seeks to improve testing as a measurement tool to explore the complexity of seed quality and improve and enhance seed quality through plant breeding, production & seed health practices, and seed applied technologies.

Priorities

1. Basic – Direct or predictive measures of seed quality with a focus on the seed embryo in small seed crops.
2. Applied – Consistent source and support for referee and reference materials for testing laboratories and researchers.
3. Outreach – Considerations in seed sampling & testing when brokering, labeling, buying, selling and using seed.
